My husband and I came here on a cold rainy day so it was very comforting. There was barely anyone inside when we arrived at 5pm on a Wednesday. We got seated quick and ordered immediately, the food came out in about 10 mins. Everything was nicely plated. This place costed $30 per person plus $5 on top for unlimited sushi. Overall good place to eat but it's nothing special. There was free parking in the back after you drive almost all the way around the back. It's quiet small and difficult to park if you aren't careful so take a smaller car if you can. Inside there was Chinese theme decor and limited karaoke rooms.

Took our 1st year Maryland Terp here for her birthday dinner. It is located in College Park Maryland. There is limited free parking in the back of the restaurant. The lot was full, so we parked at the Lidl's across the street. Although it was busy, we were able to get a table within a few minutes. The restaurant was large and roomy. They had tables for both individual or shared hot pots. Since my younger daughter had food allergies, we got a table with individual hot pot stations. The menu AYCE menu was extensive. The dinner options included an appetizer menu. Compared to other AYCE hot pot restaurants, La TAO offers a variety of quality meat choices such as Angus steak, black pork, and lamb. One also has the option to add AYCE sushi for an additional $5. Our server was excellent. She checked on us often to take additional orders, refill our waters, or refill the broth. My only complaint was that it seemed louder than the usual hot pot restaurant. Because all the tables were very close together, it felt like I was back in a school cafeteria again. Thank goodness, there was no eardrum blasting K-pop music in the background. Pro tip, pay cash and get 10% discount. If you go there within 1day of your birthday, you can eat for free as long as you pay for the rest bill with cash. Just remember to bring an ID as proof.

Friend recommended me to here for date night and we were definitely satisfied. The amount of food was spectacular for the price. While the sound of spicy broth base is delicious, BE CAREFUL! It was extremely spicy for my taste and had me coughing more than expected. So that should probably have a warning sign. When requesting the meats we were very impressed with the meat choices. Definitely a must to come for dinner, the pricing is not bad at all for the premium meats this place offers. The sushi menu had a variety of sushi. I really wished I had a bigger stomach to enjoy more. The service was pretty good, our server check up on us a good amount in the beginning, but towards the end wasn't there as much since it got busier. We asked for gyozas twice after our first plate (2) and never received more. While I enjoyed all of this I do recommend being careful when ordering spicy broth and asking for low heat on the hot pot side. It's extremely hot too.

One of my favorite hot pot restaurants in the area Parking is extremely limited so I would suggest going on a week day. There is parking behind the building but there aren't many spaces. Service is always great. The hot spicy broth is my favorite. If you love spice, you will love that one. If not, steer clear. Vast selection of meats and other food to use in the pot. Love that they have the option to add unlimited sushi for $5 more. A great deal & the sushi is pretty fresh. You can see them making the rolls if you sit close to the sushi station.

The hot pot place that I always take out of towners to, even though it's 30+ minutes outside of DC. Why? - excellent broth selection: you really can't go wrong with any of the broths here, but some standouts include the rib bone broth, tomato, and rejuvenation herb (if you're into lighter, soup-like broths) - excellent sauce bar: has all of the essentials, including a mean sa cha sauce. Try this patented "DZ special sauce" - two scoops sesame sauce, one scoop sa cha, a drop of chili oil, and garlic + cilantro to taste - excellent meat and seafood selection: huge menu and large variety of stuff to choose from. I recommend almost all of the beef and lamb cuts, although the fatty brisket can be way too fatty sometimes - add unlimited sushi for FIVE DOLLARS: since a roll will run you $5-10 minimum anywhere, getting just one roll pays for itself. If you get 2+, you're basically stealing money Latao is the supreme hot pot place in the DMV - if only we could get Kpot to step up its game on the hotpot/kbbq combo scene...

Pleasantly surprised from this place, but I love their hot pot and sauce bar! I also love that you can pick from different soup bases. Food was really good and service was quick. Will definitely come back when I have my hot pot craving

Came here for the first time for lunch on a weekend with a friend. We ordered the AYCE hotpot with 3 broths- Tom yum, mushroom, and rejuvenation herb broth. Total per person came out to approximately $22 (without tip). What's hot - Quality. The broths were well-seasoned and flavored, not overly salty. All the dishes we ordered were fresh, especially the veggies. All the meats were pre-frozen, which is not a bad thing, especially as you're cooking it. - Menu variety. Something for everyone- meats, seafood, veggies and for vegans. You have to order the specific dishes you want. They have enoki mushrooms, fish tofu, lobster balls, bak choy, enoki mushrooms, lotus root, winter melon, daikon, chicken, angus steak, etc. The list goes on. You don't take the food from a buffet line, which appears to help them reduce food waste. They have a sauce bar, which is where you can choose from a variety of sauces- soy sauce, garlic, sa cha, peanut sauce, jalapeños, green onions, etc.... - Portions. Given that there were only 2 of us, they did a good job of providing us with decent size portions and we were always able to finish what we ordered. We pretty much finished everything. - Price. For the variety and quality of food, it's pretty good value for money. - Service. Pretty decent. As we finished up our dishes, the same waiter would always come by and ask us if there were additional dishes we would like to order. As such, we weren't waiting very long for our next dishes to be served. - Location. Easy to find and it's close to other amenities, like a cafe. - Parking. There is a parking lot within/behind the complex and it's about 3 levels. What's not - Service. It's not always easy to flag someone down and get what you need, so be patient. For example, we had to make the same requests a few times and our broths were boiling down and it took a while for someone to fill up our broths again. I was also surprised we weren't given spoons with our dishes. - Time limit. They have signs that you're given a 90 minute time limit to finish your meal. I appreciate they want to keep the customer line rolling and avoid lengthy wait times. However, it made my friend nervous to make sure we weren't staying too long, because she didn't want us to get kicked out. Makes me wonder if they ever have kicked out customers, which would be rude, especially given the nature of eating hot pot. At the very least, it's something to be aware of. - Parking. I didn't originally know there's a parking lot in the complex, so I parked somewhere close by and walked. I'm kind of glad I didn't park in the parking lot, because the spaces are very tight. Final answer Willing to come back, but will be mindful of when.

Great environment and service was great. You could smell all the Asian seasonings as soon as you walked in. Which I loved being Asian myself. Great selection of food to eat with your hot pot. They had at least 6 different broth types. It was all you can eat and it was well worth it! Would definitely come back whenever we are in town again.

We did Hot pot and it was good. Next time I'll try the sushi. The restaurant is also very large and spacious which is great to control the steam from hot pot. The service was spotty at best as the gentleman who took care of us was not the most attentive. My Diet Coke was taken for a refill and I never got my drink back for 13 minutes. He sat a few tables and took a few orders and forgot. It was hard to get his attention. I would give the place a 3.5. However, My daughters left some ladybugs they brought with them in small containers. Don't ask me why but we left without them. A different gentleman at the front ran out to bring them to us. That final gesture of good faith and saving us from having two crying kids on the way back to MoCo from College Park. Rounds then to a 4/5. Latao will do great in the college park area. They also had some Karaoke rooms in the back.
